It's that time of the year again! The "back to school" period always acts as a bit of a refocus period, where I realign my goals and make sure I'm ready for the next few months. But this year for reasons I will announce fairly soon, I'm in need of a major declutter. I need to reduce what I own and adopt a more minimalist lifestyle, at least that's the fancy way of saying it. Although I've found plenty of challenged online, thinking of all the waste drives me a bit nuts. I've been looking into eco friendly and sustainable ways to get rid of things I own. So to help me stay on track with my own goals, and hopefully help you with yours, I'm launching a 30 Day Low Waste Declutter Challenge!
SO WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
#thegirlintheclutter is a little challenge made to help you go through what you own and possibly pass on what you're not using anymore. It's a way of going through your home step by step and identifying what you don't need anymore. I also wanted to do this while creating as less waste as possible, because it's no better if we clutter the planet! So my idea was to bring inspiration as to how to pick what to part with, and how you can give it a second life somewhere else.
HOW IS IT GOING TO WORK?
Every morning in September, I'll share the topic of the day on Instagram along with a tip on getting rid of something in that category. We'll be moving through the home small section by small section. The goal of the declutter challenge is to help you move forward, as it's so easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of work to go. Also making it a little challenge definitely helps motivating myself! It would also be awesome if everyone participating could share their progress on Instagram with the hashtag #thegirlintheclutter. We'll be able to encourage each other in our declutter missions. I'd also love to hear your tips on getting rids of things in each category!
