Brand Tested : Yes To Products

When I started shifting my routine towards natural products, I looked around at what products were easily accessible in shops around where I live to see how much choice I had. Spoiler alert: Not a lot! One brand I found was pretty much everywhere was Yes To. I noticed them right away because their packaging is so colourful and modern, and their prices are quite low compared to the majority of natural products. Here in Ireland they are easily found in Boots, or on Asos and Amazon.

For the past few months I've been testing a few of their products. I tried to get a selection from all their different categories of products but they have a lot and I don't have an infinite budget hehe! So below you'll find my comments the products, from my favourite to my least favourite. Now these are my opinions on my experience, if something didn't work for me but works for you, Great!

COCONUT DRY HAIR ULTRA MOISTURE CONDITIONER

My Hero! The shampoo & conditioner I used before going green had Coconut & Kukui Oil in them and they worked great in the irish humidity, so when I found a natural option with both these things, I was absolutely delighted! This conditioner is creamy although definitely not the thickest I ever tried. I let it sink into my hair for a few minutes while I wash my body. It helps me detangle my hair before I rinse them and leaves them so smooth and silky. The product also smells delicious. What really sold me on this one though is that my hair didn't frizz up the moment I stepped outside. I have a strong (but not proven) suspicion that this is due to the Kukui oil inside because the frizz got much better when I first incorporated it in my routine a few months ago. All in all, I love this conditioner, it does everything it's supposed to do and smells great, I'll repurchase it for sure!

Yes to tomatoes clear skin nose kit
TOMATOES 2-STEP NOSE KIT

This was actually a product I'd tried even before going green, but the tomatoes got to me! This is like a regular nose strip, except you also get an exfoliator to use and prep your skin beforehand. I don't get black spots on my nose, but my pores do get clogged up so I like to use strips once in a while. This was a good product although it's not the one with the most firepower I've ever used. It was nice to have the exfoliator included though as I felt it really allowed the strip to work better. I think this is a product worth testing if you don't have major issues with your nose pores, but might not be the best if you need something with a bit of bite to it.

COCONUT 2-STEP LIP KIT

The coconuts have done it again! This is a product that's got me a bit torn because IT WORKS, but it also has a few cons. When you start the process, you're meant to use a lip scrub to get rid of all the dead skin on your lips and this thing is GREAT. I didn't need the whole amount in the pouch so I will keep the leftovers for sure. It feels very moisturizing with the oil and the sugar does what it's supposed to do without ripping your lips apart. Bonus: it also tastes good... After you've rinsed everything off, it's time for the cute lip shaped mask. That one doesn't taste so good, so I don't recommend testing that. You keep it on your lips for 15 min. To my surprise, it doesn't tingle like some of the plumping lip products out there, but your lips do feel warm. My issue with this though is that the mask is way too large for my lips and the product created a bit of redness on the skin around my lips, which wasn't so sexy but faded in around 15 min. When I took the mask off I was surprised to immediately notice a difference in my lips! My lips felt a bit numb afterwards, but the effect lasted around 2-3 hours which I did impress me. I think this is a cool product to use for an event or for a photoshoot, and I'm happy to report it does work! I would follow it up with a good moisturizing lip mask afterwards though.

Yes to cucumber soothing facial wipes
CUCUMBERS SOOTHING HYPOALLERGENIC FACIAL WIPES

I picked up the travel size of these on my way home for Christmas. They felt really nice and soothing on the skin, although I wish they were a bit more saturated with product as they didn't feel very wet. I usually don't use facial wipes in my everyday routine but for traveling it does make things quite a bit easier so I was happy to have them handy. They were great at removing my face makeup but I wouldn't recommend them for the eyes, as they didn't do much there. I think the best use for these would be to remove your eye makeup first properly, and then wipe off the rest of your makeup with these. I'll keep trying more brands but I wouldn't mind repurchasing them.

BLUEBERRIES AGE REFRESH EYE FIRMING TREATMENT

I was super excited to try this product as eye creams are usually on the pricier side of things. However my first reflex when I swatched it on my hand was to flinch at the smell. I'm always disappointed when products have scents that just won't go away. It's unnecessary. I still wanted to give this product a shot and tried it for a week. It pilled on me and just didn't work for my skin. At first I thought the other products in my routine might be making it peel, but it just kept doing it on its own so I gave up on the product.

CARROTS DAILY FACIAL MOISTURISER WITH SPF 15

I could copy/paste my review for the Blueberry cream here. This moisturizer pilled even when used alone, and was impossible to use under my makeup because of it. It also didn't feel very moisturizing. There are tons of good natural moisturizers so I'm just going to pass for this one. I do want to mention that if, like me, you didn't like the scent of this product, I found an unscented version on their website so that might be a better option for some of you!

CUCUMBERS CALMING PAPER MASK

This was my biggest surprise of all the products I tried, but not for the right reasons. I came home from work and meant to just relax after a long week. I liked the cucumber wipes so figured this mask would be roughly the same. I'm not sure what happened within 30 seconds of putting it on my face is started to burn really bad, and I had to take it off. My skin very rarely reacts this severely to products so Iw as really thrown... Maybe I got a dud, that's possible. This mask is cheap enough so I'd say if you want to give it a try, maybe so a little patch test on your hand before. The shape also fit awkwardly on my face, but that might just be my face's fault hehe.

Overall this brand was pretty hit or miss for me. I absolutely love the Coconut Conditioner and will try more products from that line though!
