A quick introduction and things of the sort

Okay so here we are, first blog post ever. I was never really good at keeping up any sort of regular journal (apart from a very shameful Skyblog when I was around 15...).

Then you're probably wondering, why am I launching all this then?

Well, let me tell you a little about myself first.
Hi! My name is Lauri, I'm a 20-something Canadian living in Ireland.

For as far as I can remember I've been absolutely fascinated by the water & the ocean. It's one of the many reasons I moved here. Every chance I get of getting in the water, I take it. That being said, I still can't go as much as I'd want to and find myself.. disconnected sometimes.

In my land-bound life, I work full time as a graphic designer. As anyone would tell you, I'm a real home body. I love spending time curled up in a blanket browsing Youtube and I'm a giant fan of lifestyle blogs and channels.

See where I'm going with this?

So a few weeks ago, while doing the dishes (super glamorous right?), I found myself thinking of how I could do my part to save the oceans. See I'd been studying for my scuba diving test, and spending my evenings reading about the underwater world reminded me of how much I care about it.

The rest all came from there really. I tried to find  more information about ocean preservation in everyday life, but couldn't find anything that was oriented specially in that direction. I started thinking about the blogs I like, and the people I know that always told me I should start my own thing, and here we are. I want to learn about how I can make my lifestyle more ocean-friendly, while debunking the myths that you need to be a tree-hugger to do so. You can read all about me here, but for now know that this blog will be the record of my journey into ocean consciousness (does that make sense?). I will share my thoughts and tips along the way and talk about the projects I'm working on at the moment!

Hopefully you will learn something new, maybe even be inspired to try it for yourself or at the very least, be entertained for a short while.
